Sri Lanka Insurance - receives Brand of The Year 2010 award

Sri Lanka Insurance the State Insurance giant walked away with the People's Award as the Insurance Brand of the year, demonstrating public trust and confidence gained due to the corporation being re-instated in the State sector further strengthening the stability of the company.

Sri Lanka Insurance was awarded the Insurance Brand of the year based on the research conducted by AC Neilson Company using a sample of 2000 individuals across the country and Sri Lanka Insurance has come up as the favourite people's choice when it came to insurance.

It is believed that the strategic decisions taken by the newly appointed Board of Directors to improve the quality of service standards of the Corporation also has affected to gain public attraction on the corporation while another significant cause for this achievement can be attributed to the massive interim bonus of Rs. 3 billion declared by the Company in December 2009 to all its life insurance policy holders.

Sri Lanka Insurance the largest Government owned composite insurance provider in Sri Lanka has been rated AA - (Sri) by Fitch Ratings London for the third consecutive year, and is the best Insurance Company in Sri Lanka to be assigned a global rating for financial strength and stability.

The Company is also warded the ISO 9001:2000 for correct governing and operational procedures in line with the accepted global standards.

Sri Lanka Insurance was re-instated in the state sector after a brief period of six years under privatisation.

The Company is now geared with both the expertise and excellence paralleled to a private sector corporate and the unwavering strength of a fully Government backed institution.
