Up to 30% discount at leading fashion retailers for
cardholders:
Another value addition from Commercial Bank
Shoppers using Commercial Bank Shopping Debit or Credit Cards can
enjoy a shopping fiesta this Avurudu season as they will receive
discounts from leading fashion retailers for their purchases under a
promotion launched by the bank.
These cardholders will receive discounts of up to 30 percent between
31st March and 13th April when they do their Avurudu shopping at any of
the outlets of Nolimit, DSI, and House of Fashion. Discount for Nolimit
and House of Fashion is 25% each; a 30% discount is offered to
cardholders with a minimum purchase value of Rs. 1,000 at DSI.
All holders of Silver and Gold cards of Mastercard and VISA, as well
as Electronic, Corporate and Affinity Cards of Mastercard, Shopping
Cards of Mastercard and VISA and Maestro Debit Cards (Maestro Debit
Cards can only be used at Nolimit and DSI) will be eligible for these
discounts, the Bank said.
Commercial Bank's Head of Card Centre Lakshman Perera said: "This is
a persuasive reason for our cardholders to use their Shopping Debit or
Credit cards to shop during the festive season. Apart from the
convenience of not having to carry cash, they also get to save money on
their purchases." He pointed out that savings made possible through this
promotion are much higher than the one percent stamp duty applicable to
credit card purchases.
In addition to these discounts, Commercial Bank cardholders would
also be entitled to receive discounts overseas when they participate in
promotions carried out internationally by Mastercard and VISA during
this period.
The Commercial Bank's network in Sri Lanka comprises of 173
computer-linked branches and supermarket banking counters and 357 ATMs.
A multiple award winner, the Commercial Bank has been adjudged Sri
Lanka's 'Bank of the Year' seven times by 'The Banker,' 'Best Bank in
Sri Lanka' for 12 consecutive years by 'Global Finance' Magazine, and
'The Best Bank in Sri Lanka' by FinaceAsia. It was also recently
adjudged 'Best Local Trade Bank' in Sri Lanka by the UK based 'Trade
Finance' magazine.
