Long distance love

Goodbyes are difficult at most times. Imagine the situation when you are lying in the arms of the one you love; only to leave your lover and board the next flight. We all have had to experience something similar to this and know how painful it could be.

Despite the sorrows, you would console your partner by telling something like “I know when I leave; the distance will keep us apart. But distance, no matter how far, can’t change these feelings in my heart.” But we don’t live in fairytale fantasies and putting the above into practice is not as easy as it may seem.

So for all you who are sailing the rough seas wondering how to win the heart of your sweetheart and who are interested to know how to ace a long distance relationship in future this article may offer some invaluable help.

Things you should do Effective Communication.

With the developments in the technology there are many other alternatives to the traditional phone call. Instant messenger, emails, VOIP phone and conventional mails can be very effective methods to keep in touch with little cost involved. So make sure you purchase a quality webcam and headset with microphone.

Be Spontaneous.

Most of us like to be surprised. Sending unexpected gifts to your partner will always add spice to your distance relationship regardless how far your lover may be. Your imagination can be put to use and by sending customized cards, gifts, flowers and even a traditional letter can do wonders.

Capture and share important events by exchanging photos, video clips, etc.

Develop a hobby or an area which interests you both.

By this way you will have something new to discuss and work on throughout your distance relationship. Hence the conversations won’t be stereotype and boring.

Be understanding.

Realize that due to the difference in time some cases, both of you will have to adjust lifestyles to allow more time for your beloved. In other instances due to reasons such as pressure from workplace both of you might find it difficult to have time even for a small chat.

Areas you should avoid

Don’t doubt your partner.

The moment you let the seed of doubt enter into the affair it can be very difficult to revive. No matter what others say have full faith unless you have hard evidence against your lover. If your partner is the unfaithful kind, chances are that you could be cheated under your nose as well. Therefore, there is no need for you to create such unnecessary stress just because of distance.

Never take the relationship lightly.

The absence of your partner does not give you the licence to dictate own terms in the relationship. You should allow your true love to be a part of all important decision makings. Also don’t let the love affair to drag around. By having such an attitude your partner will suffer immensely. Hence, if you feel insecure in long distance relationships please refrain from it.

Don’t go for temporary replacements, and let a third party enter into your life.

Doing so will not only bring the relationship into jeopardy, but also will break the mutual trust.

Finally, be weary of all the negative comments you will hear regarding the chances of making a long distance relationship work. Sticking to these ideas may improve your bonding, but keep in mind to always be innovative in the way you express your dearest how much you love.
