Bangkok Sunsilk extravaganza!
by Nilma Dole
It was a pleasant journey all
the way to Bangkok where the glitzy and glamourous stars shone at the
Sunsilk Co-creations launch.
The privilege of meeting international hair stylist celebrities Tom
Taw, Rita Hazan and Teddy Charles was a dream come true. Having
fashioned some of the best hair in the world, the three celebrities
attended the Sunsilk Co-creations event to show that the special
formulae each of them have created for Sunsilk are great secrets that
they are keen to share with the ordinary women of today.
Speaking to the Sunday Observer magazine was Rita Hazan who has
created signature looks for Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez and Carmen
Electra. She said: “Since I’m always busy with an upmarket clientele, I
thought by co-creating a formula for any woman, it is a good way for
them to get the best expertise for their hair.
The Sunsilk Vibrant Colour Protection ensures longer-lasting colour
and healthier hair, sealing the cuticle layer to lock in colour
molecules.”
Her co-creation took about a year to finish despite her hectic
schedule and she said she fashioned it with the best natural substances
available.
French-born American Teddy Charles who has created fabulous looks
since he was a teenager and now for Sarah Jessica Parker and Heroes
hottie Hayden Panettiere, said “The Shape and Lengths expert I created
with Sunsilk gives the edgy bohemian sensibility and a fabulous scent of
perfume that defines feminity with a touch of class.”
He further commented: “I am a perfectionist and I’m surrounded by
perfectionists: fashion designers, magazine editors, models, make-up
artistes. None of us stop until we’ve achieved the best.”
The busiest co-creator for Sunsilk, Tom Taw has developed the Dry and
Damage Reconstruction range and Damage-free Hair Masterclass for the
right after-shine.
Tom Taw said that he’s only visited Sri Lanka just once but would
love to visit again.
He said: “It’s good that Sri Lanka’s household hair product is
Sunsilk because they believe in giving only the best for their clients.”
By co-creating the Damage Reconstruction range, Tom said, “Moisture
gives hair movement; protein gives it strength - and we’ve got the
perfect balance in the Damage Reconstruction Program.”
Furthermore, Tom said that the women of today have hair that are
being constantly bombarded with external factors such as pollution and
climate change, so it is important to find the right product that would
suit the times.
Mr. Bauke Rouwers, the chairman of the Unilever Thai Group of
Companies said: “We believe in our products and even I use them so it’s
vital to give our customers the best expertise at an affordable price.”
He added, “By co-creating a range of Sunsilk products with
international experts, we are taking the Sunsilk brand to a higher level
of quality and reliability.”
The writer wishes to thank Unilever Sri Lanka and JWT’s Mindshare
subsidiary for their kind assistance and organisation for the Bangkok
Sunsilk extravaganza.
