Help in reconstruction process
Appeal to Lankan diaspora in Germany:
The Presidential Coordinator for Hindu Religious Affairs Ven.
RamachandraIyer VeerapandiyanIyer has called upon the German envoy in
Colombo John Plotner to encourage the Sri Lankan diaspora living in
Germany to assist in the reconstruction process in the areas affected by
the three decades of conflict in Sri Lanka.
Bhrimashri Balaravichangra, Sivachchariyar and Bhrimashri Ramachandra
Iyer, the two Hindu Affairs Coordinators to President Mahinda Rajapaksa,
had a discussion with the German Ambassador John Plotner at the German
Embassy recently.
During the meeting the coordinators urged the Ambassador to enlighten
the Sri Lankan Hindus who are presently living in Germany, towards
assisting the displaced people, in Sri Lanka.
Responding to the briefing by the two Hindu priests the German
Ambassador stated that he was able to meet Hindu people and visit Hindu
temples when he was in Jaffna, the East and the Central part of the
country.
He also stated that under the "National development plans", Germany
is looking forward to assist in the cultural activities and in the
rehabilitation and reconstruction process.
