Appeal to Lankan diaspora in Germany:

The Presidential Coordinator for Hindu Religious Affairs Ven. RamachandraIyer VeerapandiyanIyer has called upon the German envoy in Colombo John Plotner to encourage the Sri Lankan diaspora living in Germany to assist in the reconstruction process in the areas affected by the three decades of conflict in Sri Lanka.

Bhrimashri Balaravichangra, Sivachchariyar and Bhrimashri Ramachandra Iyer, the two Hindu Affairs Coordinators to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, had a discussion with the German Ambassador John Plotner at the German Embassy recently.

During the meeting the coordinators urged the Ambassador to enlighten the Sri Lankan Hindus who are presently living in Germany, towards assisting the displaced people, in Sri Lanka.

Responding to the briefing by the two Hindu priests the German Ambassador stated that he was able to meet Hindu people and visit Hindu temples when he was in Jaffna, the East and the Central part of the country.

He also stated that under the "National development plans", Germany is looking forward to assist in the cultural activities and in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process.
