Teacher training diploma

The Academy of Professional Studies (APS), affiliated to Sujatha
Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, launched the “Edexcel Accredited Teacher Training
Diplomas,” course in Colombo recently.
The Teacher Training Diploma Programs offered by APS is registered
with the Tertiary and Vocational Educational Commission under the
Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training.
The Newest Encouragement is the accreditation received from Edexcel
International of United Kingdom (UK) for the Teacher Training Diploma
Programs offered by APS.The APS which was established in 1998 to provide
quality educational and professional programs to discerning Sri Lankans.
Since its inception, the highly reputed and acclaimed APS has been
grooming the future generation with Teacher Training Diplomas, Sift
Skills together with a sound knowledge of Information and Communication
Technology and English to meet the challenges of the ever evolving
professional trends in the modern world, said India Subcontinent
Territory Manager Ms. Premila Paulraj addressing the launching ceremony.
CEO Pearson India Vivek Goveil, Deputy Minister of Education,
Maldives Dr. Abdulla Nazeer, APS Managing Director Luckshman Kuruppu,
Regional Development Manager Sri Lanka and the Maldives also
participated at the launching ceremony.
Heart patient needs help
Retired private sector employee J.P. Sirisena (67) of 483/1, Weera
Mawatha, Depanama, Pannipitiya, has been diagnosed with a heart ailment
(Double Vessel disease) and has been recommended immediate surgery by
Consultant Cardiologist of the National Hospital, Colombo, Dr. S.
Narenthiran.
As the cost of the procedure is beyond his means, he
appeals to the generous public to contribute to a worthy cause by
remitting to A/c No. 306-2-001-7-1103501 of the People's Bank, Maharagama Branch.
Heart surgery: Please help
Three-year-old Sanjay of 95/4, First Cross Street, Mamangam,
Batticaloa has been diagnosed with severe pulmonary stenosis and advised
to undergo a heart procedure by Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist of
the Nawaloka Hospitals, Dr. Duminda Samarasinghe. As his parents are not
financially sound, they appeal to the generous public for help.

A/L re-correction by April 9

Examinations Commissioner General, Anura Edirisinghe said the
re-correction process of the G.C.E. (A/L) examination will be completed
by April 9 and the final results will be sent to the University Grants
Commission soon after.
He said 70,000 students had applied for re-correction. Hence, the
process would take about two weeks.
SPUR honours Mahindapalas
The Society for Peace, Unity and Human Rights (SPUR), an
Australia based non-governmental organization, felicitated H. L.
D. Mahindapala recently, for his dedication to the cause of
highlighting LTTE atrocities. and Mrs. Ranji Mahindapala, for
her unwavering support and encouragement to him, in this
endeavour. Mahindapala has also spoken at many seminars and
conferences, travelling far and wide, in spite of his health
status, to expose the terrorists’ agenda. He has been threatened
and almost kidnapped, but this did not deter him from doing his
duty to his motherland. Mahindapala was a former Editor-in-Chief
of the Sunday Observer and the Daily Observer. |
