Karateka Thasthsarani Fernando u.13 girl's champ

Karate: The promising karateka H. Navodi Thasthsarani Fernando of Basilika MV Ragama, emerged champion in the girls under-13 category at the All-Island Schools Karate Championships 2009 conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Karate De Association held at Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya, Kiribathgoda on March 13 and 14. Navodi performed best in the Kyu Kata event with the belt numbering 10987 amongst the other karatekas who participated in the under-13 age group.

For her good performances Navodi has been included into the schools karate pool in preparation for forthcoming foreign schools championship meets to be held this year. The training pool will commence from next week with the assistance by the local and foreign coaches.
