Softlogic to promote IT in North

Information Technology or IT is a necessity in the modern world.In
line with the need to enhance IT literacy in the country Softlogic
Trading, a premiere software solutions provider will commence operations
in the North shortly.
Softlogic will set up its service centre in the Jaffna town to
support businesses and provide access to all educational institutions in
the peninsula.
The North and the East were deprived of economic benefits and today
there is a yearning among people in the North for technological skills
and expertise to restore their livelihood.
Director/CEO Softlogic Trading (Pvt) Ltd., Roshan Rassol said there
is ample scope for IT services in the North following the new
environment created for business development.
He said the sales and service centre will help promote IT among
schools and universities in the North.
DELL products are being used in many educational organisations.
Softlogic the authorised distributor for DELL equipment in Sri Lanka
has three service partners in the North.
SGS Computer Services, PC Solutions and Micro PC Systems have
contributed to expand the DELL market and enhance computer literacy in
the North.
Rassol said the company plans to set up 15 regional support centres
islandwide this year to enhance its value added service. Currently
Softlogic operates eight regional support centres.
He said the company in collaboration with the Ministry of Education
launched several computer training programs in schools during the past
five years.
Softlogic partnered the Federation of Information Technology Services
(FITS) and Infotel IT development program held in Jaffna last month", he
said.
Softlogic launched the DELL range of personalised computers for the
price conscious customers at ceremony held recently in Colombo.
Rassol said software industry has moved away from technical
specifications to style, colour and design to meet individual
satisfaction.
