President, the man of the era - D.M. Jayaratna

President Mahinda Rajapaksa's style of leadership is unique. He put an end to the LTTE terror and led the country to victory said Plantation Minister D.M. Jayaratna.

He said if the Premiership is offered to him, he would certainly do his utmost to accomplish what the President expected of him and also fulfil the aspirations of the people.

Under the leadership of President Rajapaksa, the country has achieved a rapid progress in all the spheres of development. When the global economic recession began to take its toll on the world economy there were reports that the people in several countries faced enormous difficulties. No such hardships arose in Sri Lanka due to the wide and able leadership given by President Rajapaksa. Sri Lanka was fortunate enough to get heroes from time to time during its 2600 years long history. Our President is undoubtedly coming from that category and he is the man of era, he said.

Plantation Minister D.M. Jayaratna joined SLFP as its 13th member on September 2, 1952 at the age of 20 soon after the SLFP was formed.
