State-of-the-art Digital Learning Centre in Vavuniya:
Virtusa assists to rehabilitate ex-combatants

Virtusa Corporation sponsored a state-of-the-art Digital Learning
Centre in Pompamadu, Vavuniya, to assist in rehabilitating and
reintegrating ex-combatants into civil society. The fully fledged
training centre was opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe RWP RSP psc MSc- Commissioner General
Rehabilitation, acknowledged, 'The commitment displayed by the Virtusa
team towards the national venture to expedite the rehabilitation process
for the youth is greatly appreciated. This helps enhance the
reintegration of the ex-combatants assisting in releasing them as
civilians back to society.
We are very thankful for the unstinted support extended towards this
rich initiative.
The Digital Learning Centre is intended to provide education and
training for ex-combatants. In addition, a curriculum is being designed
to carry out IT education programmes for different levels of IT
experience.
The learning centre includes state-of-the-art equipment and the
network infrastructure to provide the rehabilitees every opportunity to
utilise IT to better their vocational skills.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Madu Ratnayake, the General Manager
of Virtusa Corporation, said that, 'Creating an integrated society is
key for lasting peace and economic prosperity in our country.
We believe that each one of us has a responsibility to make the
process of integration a success.
We are glad to be able to make a contribution toward this end.
We will continue our efforts to support the mission of Commissioner
General of Rehabilitation'. |
