HNB bags MoneyGram award for Service Excellence

Hatton National Bank (HNB) with correspondent arrangements worldwide,
has provided legitimate channels in bringing home much valued earnings
of Sri Lankans employed overseas as well as former Sri Lankans now
domiciled overseas who remit to their kith and kin in the island.
MoneyGram is an accepted and trusted organisation that teamed up with
HNB in 2002 and facilitates remittances to Sri Lanka from 190,000
locations worldwide.
Currently HNB is MoneyGrams' Super Agent in Sri Lanka. A conference
was held in Cochin India from April 20 to 23 for all MoneyGram agents in
South Asia and Middle East.
At this conference, MoneyGram presented an award `Excellence in
Customer Service' for 2009 to HNB.
Incidentally this is the third award HNB has received from MoneyGram
over the years.
In 2007 HNB received an award for `Best Signage Collaboration
Project' at the conference held in Shanghai and in 2008 received an
award for `Most Productive Network of Locations' at the conference held
in Goa in India. The importance of South Asia and Middle East as
remittance hubs be it sending or receiving was amplified by the fact
that this years Agents Conference was chaired by Ms Pamela Patsley the
new Chairman/CEO of MoneyGram. Other dignitaries from MoneyGram also
participated at the conference and they included Harsh Lamba Regional
Director South Asia and Gautam Kalro - Regional Manager - South Asia.
Reshanka Abayasekara (Assistant General Manager Correspondent Banking
and International Operations) of HNB represented the bank at the
conference and also made presentation on `Customer Excellence and
Customer Promotion'.
