Cricket coach education programmes May 10 and 11 at Randles Hill

CRICKET: The Coaching Department of Sri Lanka Cricket has made
arrangements to conduct cricket coach education programme to update
information of all men and women cricket coaches in the country which in
turn will reach a larger area with the latest methods of cricket
coaching. The first of these programmes will be conducted in the Central
Province and the venue Kingswood grounds, Randles Hill on May 10 and
11th commencing at 9.00 a.m. each day.
These coaching programme will be conducted by national level cricket
coaches said the Manager Coaching of Sri Lanka Cricket. Malcolm Perera.
This coaching programmes will be handled by following national coaches:
Anusha Samaranayake - National Fast Bowling Coach, Piyal Wijetunga -
National Spin Coach, Sumithra Warnakulasuriya - Academy Coach, Jayantha
Gamage - Coach Educator, Manoj Abeykoon - National Fielding Coach,
Heshan de Mel - Coach Educator, Jerome Jayaratne - Head of Coaching,
Malcolm Perera - Manager Coaching - SLC.
According to Melcolm Perera over 100 registered cricket coaches are
to participate at the important Provincial Centres, The programme in
Kandy will include cricket coaches from Kandy, Kegalle and Nuwara Eliya
and the Central Provincial Coach, Sunil Fernando, Bernard Perera (Kandy),
Migara Ekanayake (Kegalle) and S. Keethigeson (Nuwara Eliya) will also
be in attendance.
In addition to the above, a Spin Talent Search programme will be held
from 9.00 a.m. at Asgiriya grounds, Kandy. Fast bowlers talent search
programme will conducted at Police grounds, Kandy on May 11th at 9. a.m.
