ICASL holds Top Ten awards

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL), the premier national accounting body of the country recently conducted its annual Top Ten awards ceremony on May 11 at the ICASL auditorium.

At this annual event the ICASL awards full scholarships of its institute for the students who ranked top ten in the G.C.E Advanced Level Examination from all four educational streams of commerce, science, mathematics and arts.

The event is conducted by ICASL to uplift the standards of education in the country by providing opportunities for those who have reached the pinnacle of success in the field of education.

The chief guest of this event was J.A.D.L Hemachandra Western Province Educational Director who at the event expressed the value of this event which has a long term positive impact on the nation's educational field.

Speaking at the occasion the President of ICASL Sujeewa Mudalige commented that the ICASL is truly committed towards enhancing the potential student body in the country and that events of this calibre are clear examples for this aim, furthermore he stated that the Institute intends to execute more programs towards emphasising the pivotal importance of education for the youths in our nation.

The scholarships offered to these 40 high achievers is most certainly an exceptional one where they are enrolled to a globally recognized qualification, the ICASL scholarship is where the student gets the opportunity to carve out the talents bestowed in him towards the creation of a fully competent accountant.

Expressing his ideas on the event ICASL Chief Executive Officer Aruna Alwis states that the ICASL scholarship is as valuable as a diamond among gems in the sphere of local education since it covers a broad syllabus of theoretical and practical knowledge, he further added the ICASL students are required a mandatory training period in affiliated organizations which number over 800 for a period where their talent is tested in practice which is the most unique feature at ICASL.

The ICASL is the most highly recognized accountancy qualification of Sri Lanka which has produced over 4,000 members that excel all over the globe reaching significant heights in the professional careers.
