Benefits of a CSE branch office

The opening of branch offices is a strategy of the CSE to expand its services throughout the country to assist the growing base of regional domestic investors.

Branches provide on line access to the stock market and offer a range of stock brokering services which include order acceptance and on line order execution, settlements, Investment advice, pre trade and post trade documentation such as account opening, deposits, withdrawals etc., research and other related services.

Branch offices provide an excellent opportunity for residents of those provinces to invest and profit through the stock market.

The CSE conducts educational and awareness programs on investing in the stock market and its developments, on a regular basis at branch offices and at schools and other institutions in the region, where members of the public can participate.

The CSE has four Branch offices in the Southern, Central, Western and North Western provinces. The fifth Branch of the CSE was opened in Jaffna on April 27.

Services available for Investors at branch offices

* Central Depository System (CDS) facilities such as account opening, depositing of share certificates, withdrawal and transfer of securities

* Online stock market information

* Online trading and order execution via an Automated Trading System (ATS) or a Debt Securities Trading System (DEX)

* Awareness programs and seminars for prospective investors, students, teachers and various other institutions * Stockbroker services through member firms housed at the branch * Market information such as daily price lists, dividend, rights and other corporate announcements and latest developments of the exchange * Colombo Stock Exchange publications * Historical market information including interim/annual financial reports of listed companies

Matara branch

The branch office in Matara was opened on June 4, 1999 as an Investor Service Centre and became the first regional branch office of the CSE. It services the investors of the Southern Province. The branch office is at Station Road, Matara. Currently 6 broker firms operate at the Branch.

Kandy branch

The second branch of the CSE was opened in Kandy on June 4, 2003. The branch office, which is at 'Ceybank House', Dalada Veediya is at the heart of the ancient capital city, houses seven stockbroker firms.

The branch office provides investors of the Central, Uwa and Sabaragamuwa Provinces with access to the stock market, trading information and stock brokering services.

Kurunegala branch

The third branch of the CSE is in 1st Floor, 'Union Assurance Centre', Rajapihilla Mawatha, Kurunegala. Opened on February 14, 2005, this branch office services investors in the North Western province of Sri Lanka. 6 broker firms operate at the branch.

Negombo branch

The fourth branch of the CSE is situated at 1st Floor, Jude City Building, Greens Road, Negombo. Opened on August 01, 2007, this branch office services investors in the Western province of Sri Lanka through four broker firms housed at the branch.

Jaffna branch

The fifth branch of the CSE in Hospital Road, Jaffna. Opened on April 27, 2010, this branch office services investors in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. 6 Stock broker firms operate at the branch. Courtesy CSE
