CDB extends operations to North
The Citizens Development Business Finance Ltd (CDB) recently spread
its wings to the North with two fully fledged Service Centres in Jaffna
and Vavuniya. at Stanley Road, Jaffna and the Vavuniya Service Centre is
at Kandaswamy Kovil Road. Both Centres are fully geared to extend CDB's
wide range of products and services to the people of the North.
The Jaffna Service Centre was ceremonially inaugurated by the
Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal.
Addressing the vast gathering present the Governor of the Central
Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal said that the key to the development of the
Northern peninsula was strong lending facilities which the community
there needed to develop their livelihoods.
Hailing the far reaching initiatives taken by CDB by becoming a
partner in the cause, he reiterated that the development of the overall
Sri Lankan economy will be boosted with the development of the northern
peninsula.
As part of this expansion drive to the North, new leasing facilities
were given to entrepreneurs to support their business operations.
Speaking on the occasion CDB's GM/CEO Mahesh Nanayakkara said,
'Through our presence in the Jaffna region, we are committed to
supporting the business community and the public of the region with our
innovative financial solutions.
We will also focus on fulfilling the financial needs of the
community.
The CDB has evolved as a key player in Sri Lanka's banking and
financial services industry and is currently ranked within the top seven
institutions registered under the Finance Companies Act, under which the
CDB is regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka'.
