Govt committed to minorities' well-being -Vasudeva

The Government led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is committed to
look into the well-being of the minorities including those in the North
and East, Ratnapura District UPFA Parliamentarian Vasudewa Nanayakkara
said.
He said that President Rajapaksa is the only leader who treats all
citizens without any discrimination.
He was addressing the Founder's Day ceremony of The All Ceylon Union
of Muslim League Youth Front (ACUMLYF) and 93rd annual birth anniversary
of the late Bakeer Markar held under the patronage of President ACUMLYF
Rasheed M. Imthiyas at Narahenpita recently.
Vasudeva said that the President's speech in Parliament after
achieving the historic victory against LTTE terrorists shows his
dedication towards uniting the nation.
Nanayakkara said that the minorities of this country also have the
rights and privileges similar to the majority community of this country.
He said that the 13th Amendment must be implemented with some
amendments considering the future of the people in the North and the
East.
Nanayakkara said that a huge responsibility lies on the shoulders of
majority in relation to the minorities.
We have to travel on a difficult path to promote unity among all
communities.
