Rs. 577 m has to be settled allege depositors

It has come to light that a sum of over Rs. 577 million has to be
settled to Golden Key Credit Card Company by 39 directors and other
officials.Vice president of the Ceylinco Golden Key Depressed Depositors
Association Dushanthi Hapugoda said that the CID too had been informed
of this development and they are acting on this.
She also said that some of the assets declared by the Ceylinco Group
to be sold to settle the depositors have run into controversy.
“We have found out that a teak estate in Kurunegala which was valued
at Rs. 400 million cannot be sold as there are 93 individuals owning
it,” she said.She said that though Interpol has issued a Red Notice to
apprehend Chairperson of Ceylinco, Cecilie Kotelewela she is still
absconding.
