St. Lawrence's record breakers

The under 14 relay team of St. Lawrence's Convent, Colombo 6 became champions at the Relay Carnival held recently at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama.

The Athletic Meet was organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association. SLC was also able to create two new meet records in the events 4 x 100 m (54.5 sec) and 4 x 50 m (27.6 sec) and were placed second in the 4 x 200 m event St. Lawrence Convent, Colombo 6 was adjudged the under-14 champions at this event. The number of schools participated were 103. The under-12 team also kept a new meet record 4 x 50 m (29.6 sec) relay and taking the 3rd place 4 x 100 m.

The team being Sanadi Nonis, Meedya Diyanjali, Nethmi Hirunika, Jehani Fernando and Tarinidi Silva. Principal Rev. Sister Chandrika Perera, Principal, SLC was a tower strength for the participants to be winners at this relay along with the untiring support of the Coach. W.A. Wimalaratne and Teacher-in-Charge Deepa Dissanayake.
