The Fertility Centre commissioned in September 2008 proved to be not
only the most modern centre for fertility treatment in Sri Lanka but
also the most successful with a success rate of 42 percent in COH IVF
cycle.
"The success rate of The Fertility Centre at Lanka Hospitals is on
par with the best IVF centres in the world" said CEO of Lanka Hospitals
Lakith Peiris.
The Lanka Hospitals IVF Centre is the only centre in Sri Lanka that
performs IVF cycles seven days a week. The fertility treatment ranges
from successful IVF pregnancies with endometriosis, to distorted tubes,
fibroids and other such complications such as ectopic pregnancies.
The Fertility Centre at present treats 45 to 50 couples for IVF
procedures a month both from Sri Lanka and abroad said Clinical
Embryologist of Lanka Hospitals Fertility Centre Dr. Madara Ralapanawa.
Director Medical Services of Lanka Hospitals Dr. Wimal Karandagoda
said, "In keeping with Lanka Hospitals vision of providing superior
quality health care to a larger segment of society, Lanka Hospitals has
made all types of fertility procedures affordable, to an extent that
this facility could be within the means of a larger cross section of
people at all levels.
To extend the services of The Fertility Centre to the lower income
segments, the hospital has introduced an easy payment scheme".
Two renowned Gynaecologists and Obstetricians guide the Lanka
Hospitals IVF Fertility Team, namely Dr. Nishendra Karunaratne and Dr.
Sudheera Uduwela.
The clinical embryologist and his trained team are committed to
maintaining the highest confidentiality while providing all couples
superior medical care with compassion in a family focused environment
coupled with personalised care.
With its 100th IVF baby expected in the month of July 2010, Lanka
Hospitals promises the health loving public a health care experience
that has to date not been experienced in Sri Lanka.
