Thomian rowers win
Royal Colombo Yacht Club Trophy:

Chamal Jayanetti and Sajin de Livera of S. Thomas' College, Mt.
Lavinia raced through the waters in perfect style and showed their
prowess to win the prestigious Royal Colombo Yacht Club Trophy winning
the pairs event. The main event at the South West Monsoon Regatta 2010
defeating the Royal College pair of Harith Cooray and Sanjeewa
Jayasinghe with a time of 3.56 secs held on the Beira Waters yesterday.
The annual South West Monsoon Regatta was conducted by the Colombo
Rowing Club. In the other five events, the favourite oarsmen and
oarswomen proved their rowing skills to come out victorious. Comd. Hans
Svenson of Royal Colombo Yacht Club was the chief guest.
Madras-Colombo Regatta
According to Sanjay Senarath, the President of the Colombo Rowing
Club. The annual madras-Colombo Regatta will be held on 24th July in
Chennai, India. Madras Beat Club has confirmed the date of the Regatta
and the Colombo Rowing Club will select the crew to represent the
Colombo Rowing Club shortly.
