Subashini wins second gold

Sri Lanka's Chandrika Subashini Ratnayake produced a repeat performance to win the first place in the women's 400 metres event at the second leg of the Asian Grand Prix Series athletic meet worked off in Bangalore yesterday.

Chandrika went on to win the race with a timE of 54.04 second following her success in the first leg of the Asian Grand Prix meet which was held in Pune last week.

However promising athlete Shehan Ambepitiya was pushed into the fourth position in the men's 100 metres event with a timing of 10.37 seconds. In addition Kasun Seneviratne had to settle with the seventh position in the men's 400 metres event. -CD
