BRMS to re-structure STELCO, Maldives

Business Resource Management Services (BRMS), a consultancy firm in
Sri Lanka has extended its services through its counterpart Charterhouse
(Pvt) Ltd. in the Maldives in restructuring State Electrical Company Ltd
(STELCO) the electric company owned by the Government of the Republic of
Maldives.
BRMS is a partnership concern of Wasanthe K. B. Senanayake and
Jayanta Jayaratna with multidisciplinary professionals who provide
services to business enterprises in Sri Lanka.
STELCO is mandated to produce, distribute and retail electricity,
being the sole provider of electricity in the Maldives and is in the
process of converting its operation from a State owned enterprise to a
Public Limited Liability Company.
BRMS in association with Charterhouse is jointly engaged in the
organisational restructuring of STELCO. The work details an indepth
study of the present organisational structure and recommending
strategies to enhance its efficiency with respect to the conversion in
compliance with the Corporate Governance Code of the Maldives published
by the Capital Market Development Authority.
The Managing Partner of BRMS Wasanthe K. B. Senanayake visited the
Republic of Maldives in early March and met with the chairman and board
of directors, senior management and other officials in initiating the
assignment. |
