Dialog scholarships for rankers

Dialog Telekom presented scholarships to 27 students who had excelled at the G.C.E Advanced Level Examination at a ceremony in Colombo recently.

Top rankers in the mathematics stream in each district and the male and female student who secured highest marks in the island were recipients.

Dialog scholars will be supported during the duration of their course of study at universities in the country.

Scholarships were presented in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and the University Grants Commission.

Dialog Telekom has pioneered in introducing advanced technologies in the education sector. Nanasa, the distance education network is an initiative of Dialog Telekom implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

Group CEO, Dialog Telekom, Dr. Hans Wijesuriya said Dialog helps university students to improve their communication and negotiation skills which are essential to be effective marketeers.

"Students should be geared to face challenges and inculcate good leadership qualities during their university education", he said.

Dialog has awarded scholarships to over 400 students since the launch of the program in 2003.
