the Year? How do you feel about the win?
I feel privileged and honored to be awarded this most prestigious

showcase Sri lankan young cricketing talent. I am elated to be named the
Observer schoolboy cricketer of the year
2. What is your experience as a budding cricketer and how do you
feel that Sri Lanka Cricket can be better?
The u19 world provided us the platform to showcase the mass of talent
and potential of our young Sri Lankan side, and the immense support and
guidance by the coaches Aravinda De Silva, Naveed Navas and Upul
Chandana (All big names in Sri Lanka cricket both home and abroad) and
Sri Lanka cricket at large is commendable and much appreciated. I’m
sure, not only by me, but by the whole team of 11 who were part and
parcel of the spectacle.

cricket?
I hope to contribute to the best of my abilities to uphold the name
of Sri Lanka Cricket, which is renowned worldwide and which has
contributed towards demarcating Sri Lanka as a fore-runner in the world
of cricket and in the world at large. It is my aim to perform to the
best of my ability to take the game of cricket to the next level and
beyond the paradigms setin cricketing standards worldwide.

competitive environment. What is the secret of your success?
The competition level is very high, but commitment and dedication is
in my point of view the twin cores of success in achieving the ultimate
goal.

youngsters in the game. What is important to achieve?
To do your best at all times, and to be committed and focused on what
you want to achieve as a cricketer.

parents and family, and all well wishes and sponsors who have encouraged
and given me inspiration to come to a position to obtain this
