Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year:

Mega Show on ITN next Sunday

The 32nd Observer-Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year mega awards show will be telecast over ITN next Sunday (July 4) at 10 p.m.

The two-hour show will include the presentation of all 40 awards and runner-up titles that were made during the event and the entertainment items which added colour to the mega show.

The entertainment items by Bhathiya and Santhush, Centigradsz and Channa Wijewardene’s dance troupe have also been included.

Minister of Mass Media and Information, Keheliya Rambukwella was the chief guest at the Mega Show while Minister of Sports C.B. Ratnayake and Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena were the guests of honour.

Former Observer Schoolboy Cricketer award winners Farveez Maharoof and Dinesh Chandimal have performed well with the Sri Lanka team in recent times. Maharoof had the rare honour of completing a hat-trick in the Asian Cup match against India while Chandimal was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match during the 20Twenty World Cup in South Africa.
