Cultural activities to promote ethnic harmony

The Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka will organise cultural activities to strengthen the relationship between of different ethnicities and develop soft skills of the university community.

The Cultural Drum Festival, will be held from July 2 to 4 at the Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition. The event, conducted by Prof. Mudiyanse Dissanayake and Rohana Baddege, will include discussions, demonstrations and performances about Sri Lankan drums on Day One - Friday (2).

On Saturday (3), the Cultural Food Festival will be organised to give a first hand experience to university communities to prepare over 40 different Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim food items. A Number of other universities too will participate at the event.

The final day of the event on July 4 will mark a cultural tour of the Wayamba Province, by the Wayamba University community and other participants visiting cultural sites of heritage. Panduwasnuwara, Munneswaram, Thalawila Church and Grand Mosque of Puttalam.
