Dewmini makes good progress

T.T.: Dewmini Weerasena of Musaeus College is table tennis player who is making rapid progress.

She won, the status of runner-up, then a semi finalist and quarter finalist in tournament in the past and won the championship status in the recently concluded Western Province Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship under-15 doubles category with Denethi de Wijegunawardana. The pair beat the ranked players Ruvini Kannangara and Delmi de Silva 11-3, 12-14 and 11-8. The matches were of the I & D TT Academy held at S. Thomas' College Indoor Stadium, Mount Lavinia.

Dewmini Weerasena, an up-and-coming player won the under-12 singles title in the All Island Intermediate Championship conducted by TIBHAR on July 10 and 11.

Dewmini is now in the junior table tennis pool in preparation for junior international table tennis tournaments to be held in several countries. L.F.
