CRICKET: Anuradhapura Police XI beat Ampara Police XI by 2 wickets in
the Under 50 limited-over Inter-Division Police Cricket Tournament match
for the J. R. Jayawardene Trophy held on Tuesday 27, July.
Ampara Police XI - 111 all out in 26 overs: T. M. Dharshana 37, (M.
Gunasekera 3 for 10, C. Mendis 3 for 19, S. Pingho 2 for 18, T.
Wanasinghe 2 for 20).
Anuradhapura Police XI - 112 for 8 in 25 overs: M. Gunasekera 25, S.
Pingho 18, A. G. Priyankara 10, (T. M. Dharshana 4 for 19, U. Ekanayake
2 for 20, A. Tharanga 1 for 18).
Anuradhapura Police team will meet winners of the Field Force
Headquarters XI vs Transport Division XI during the week end in Colombo
in same tournament.
