Rain stops play in second England-Pakistan Test

BIRMINGHAM, England, Aug 7 (AFP) - England were 125 for two, a lead of 53 runs, when rain stopped play at 12.09pm local time (1109GMT) on the second day of the second Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston here on Saturday.

Jonathan Trott was 37 not out and Kevin Pietersen 42 not out after only 6.2 overs were possible after rain delayed the scheduled start by 35 minutes. Pakistan had been bowled out for 72 -- their lowest total against England -- on the first day here on Friday.

England lead the four-match series 1-0.
