Kelaniya University wins MTI Venture Challenge

The University of Kelaniya were the Champions of the MTI Venture Challenge. The team comprising Ruwani Rajapakse, Ashani Ratnayake and Andrea Sugunasekera presented their venture on Legal Process Outsourcing and walked away with the MTI Venture Challenge Trophy, netbooks from Toshiba and Blackberries.

Team John Keells Capital, whose presentation was on Diagnostic Health Care, was declared Runners up. Team members Maduranga Kulathilaka, Inshard Naizer and Hishan Singhawansa were awarded trophies.

Speaking at the event, MTI CEO Hilmy Cader shared the key learnings of this experience:

"There is the scarcity of simplicity in businesses today and a current need for business plans to be simple yet clear with an understanding which makes financial sense. Don't be afraid to think and ask questions and challenge conventional thinking. We need to realize that there is a world outside Sri Lanka".
