SUNDAY OBSERVER in entertainment forefront:
Unbeatable entertainment
By Mahes PERERA
The Fab Beatles are by far the best Beatles act according to research
carried out in Britain. Any wonder then why they are hailed as UK's No.
1 Beatles Tribute Band. You are assured of a great evening of
entertainment when you catch their performance live on Saturday,
September 18 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre. This
amazing show will be presented by Mystere Entertainment Lanka in
collaboration with the Sunday Observer in the entertainment forefront.
The Fab Beatles show is slick and amazing. You shut your eyes and
listen and it is as if the real Beatles are singing.
It was said that Ringo was the weakest musician in The Beatles group,
but listening to this Ringo (Pete Isbell) you'd never believe it.
The drumming is perfect, holding each song together and his playing
of the tambourine intro to Day Tripper on his drums is fantastic. Andy
Southard may not have the looks of Paul McCartney, but he more than
makes up in voice and mannerisms.
'Can't Buy Me Love', 'She Loves you', and 'Lady Madonna' are some of
his highlights. Kev Day the leader of the band not only looks like, acts
like, he even sounds like Lennon. And when he sits at the keyboards - he
is something else! His rendition of 'Twist and Shout' will leave you
screaming for more.
The Fab Beatles are currently on tour in Europe. This is the first
time they will be performing in Sri Lanka and we understand that the
group members are looking forward to meeting the many Beatles fans here.
Their performances have taken them all over UK and Ireland. They've had
their appearances in Canada, The Carribbean, Denmark, Germany,
Yugoslavia and the Middles East. They have appeared live on the Japanese
TV Show 'Endurance' along with Nigel Mansel.
The Fab Beatles were the preferred choice of Michael Parkinson for
his Celebrity Dinner and Cricket match. He commented later "The Fab
Beatles are truly fab, I know because I saw the other lot".That comment
carries a lot of weight, so remember to keep the date free, September
18, enjoy yourselves at a show stopper evening you will remember
forever! |
