Airmen down table leaders Police 2-1

Table leaders Police was beaten for the first time this seson in their sixth match when they were trounced by the Air Force 2-1 in the Dialog Champions League. Air Force displayed a spirited game to baet the policemen.

With this win Air Force climbed the points up ladder with for an unbeaten record of 4 wins and 2 draws to make a total of 14 points from six games. Police is behind with 13

points and Blue Star SC will have to win today's game against Kalutara Park SC if they are to reach the second slot.

Police lost its regular custodian at the 15th minute of play when he was injured and had to be carried away. It was Airman National poolist T. Konara who found the net early for Airforce. Police did well to make it 1-1 before lemons through through a well combined display with a fine goal by by Rajitha Jayavilal. At lemons it was 1-1.

In the 63rd minute Air force struck again to make it 2-1 through their next National poolist S. Sanjeevan who meda no mistake off a pass sent to him by forward Imitiaz Rahman to make it 2-1 in favor of the Air force.

Army in a 1-1 draw

Army held the Renown SC to one all draw at the City Football Complex, Slave Island.

It was a hard battle players and a consolation for Renown fans as their team managed to hold the experienced Army to this draw. Both teams scored before the lemons and could not find the net befor the long whistle.

Army had many scoring chances and their forwards lack the right direction and Renown too could have have mad a match out of it had their strikers got the maximum from the opportunities.

Bosco beat home town rivals Jupiters 4-0

Don Bosco SC beat Jupiters SC four goals to nil at the Don Bosco ground, in Negombo in the third game of the Dialog Champions League soccer encounter yesterday.

Don Bosco who completed their 4th win and added few points make their total 13 points. Chatura Gunaratne (2), Ranga Fernando and Phillip Dalpadadu one each scored for winners Don Bosco.

Blue Star, Air Force and Police are also with same number of points and the tourney is well poised for a keen affair in the future games..
