Kingswood inflict heavy defeat on Ananda

Kingswood College, Kandy notched up the highest score of the day when
they beat Ananda College by 41 points (3 goals, 4 tries) to nit at the
all island schools under Division I 12-a-side rugby tournament organised
by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association which began at the
Nittawela Stadium in Kandy yesterday. The tournament will be continued
today at 8.00 a.m.
The Secretary of the S.L.S.R.F.A. Denzil Darling said that the shield
final will start at 3.30 p.m. today followed by Bowl, Plate and Cup
final which will be played 5.00 p.m.
The teams which have entered the cup quarter finals are Royal
College, St. Anthony's College, Kingwood College, Dharmaraja College,
St. Peters College, S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia, Trinity College
and Isipathana College.The Plate Championship will be fought out between
Mahanama College, St. Joseph's College, Science College, Thurstan
College, Vidyartha College, Lumbini Vidyalaya, St. Sylvesters' College
and Wesley College.
The Bowl Championship will feature D.S. Senanayake College, Carey
College, Ananda College, S. Thomas' College, Prep. Maliyadeva College,
Royal College, Panadura and C.W.W. Kannangara Vidyalaya have entered
the final of the Shield Championship.
Finishing as group leaders were:
Group A - Royal College, Group B - St. Anthony's College, Group C -
Kingswood College, Group D - Dharmaraja College, Group E - St. Peters'
College, Group F - S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia, Group G - Trinity
College, Group H - Isipathana College.
