H/B/K tidbits
Hollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood :
Miley and Adam?
Adam Sevani, better known as Moose in the dance flick Step Up has
probably been the cause of Miley Cyrus split from Liam Hemsworth. “Miley
has been super focused on her work. Liam wanted more, but she’s 17 and
has other priorities right now. He’s been a distraction,” said a close
aide. While Liam’s been a distraction, other girls have been a pleasant
distraction for Liam, who was partying it up in Newport Beach in Orange
County. Meanwhile, Miley has been seen with Adam Sevani which might add
more steam to the scene. |
Kelly in new role
After the success of Piranha 3D, British model Kelly Brook has landed
another Hollywood role.
Kelly, 30, will star as an estate agent in spine-chiller Removal,
reports the Daily Star.
Film boss Chady Eli Mattar spotted Kelly in Piranha. “You know the
beautiful woman we’re looking for? Well, I’ve found her,” he told pals.

Katrina not single?
‘and they lived happily ever after’ sort of stories are hardly seen
in the real lives of the Bollywood stars. Most of their fairy-tales wind
up with break-ups. Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif duo is famous for a long
time romance.
However, Katrina never uttered a word in connection with their
relationship, so far.
Katrina said that she is still single and is not amorously committed
to anybody. More to the point, she trashed out the news related to her
romantic commitment to a particular person.
She said, “My current statement is in response to such rumours.
Certain issues are hard to be decided and once decided, they should be
revealed.” |
Kamal is honoured
Kamal Hassan, who spent the initial years of his career in Malayalam,
has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi. On the completion of 50
years in the film industry, the State Government of Kerala felicitated
him during the Onam Week Celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram at
Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium on Sunday.
Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan honoured Kamal by presenting him a
Ponnadai and a memento. Achuthanadan praised Kamal as an artiste and
socially concerned individual, who had played a sterling role in raising
Indian cinema to international standards. However, he criticised
Malayalam superstars, who did not participate in the function as
directed by the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA).
Meanwhile, Kamal Hassan said that he was greatly indebted to the
Malayalam film industry, as it spotted the artiste in him, nursed and
helped him as an actor. “It was veteran director K.S. Sethumadhavan, who
initiated me into my career as a young boy. I was later adopted by the
great director K. Balachandar,” he said. |
Asin over Priyanka?
Bollywood, it seems, can’t get enough of Asin’s charms. After Aamir
Khan and Salman Khan, the latest to be enthralled with the South Indian
beauty is Shahid Kapoor. Recently, Asin and Shahid were shooting a TV
commercial. Asin, a linguist of sorts, knows seven languages including
four South Indian languages, Hindi, English and French.
She was seen playing the tutor to Shahid, teaching him to speak a
couple of sentences in Tamil. “The advertisement that we were shooting
for was in Hindi and Tamil. I could manage it as I know both languages.
But Shahid was struggling with the Tamil part of it, so he took my help
in getting the language right. He didn’t know Tamil at all, so the
entire exercise turned out to be a fun session,” said Asin. However, it
apparently got awkward when Priyanka Chopra met Shahid on the sets. “The
crew kept saying that the pair looked cute together. Priyanka, however,
was not very comfortable seeing Asin and Shahid’s easy camaraderie,”
says a source. |
John in Aashayein
After charming his fans with his Greek God looks and toned muscular
body, John Abraham undergoes an image makeover for Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Aashayein’.
Instead of making typical Bollywood potboilers, Bollywood filmmakers
these days are focusing more on real life stories that strike a chord
with the audiences.
These films are not only probable, but far more acceptable than the
three-hour fantasy dished out in the name of commercial cinema. Directed
by Nagesh Kukunoor and starring, Sonal Sehgal, Girish Karnad, Anaitha
Nair, Farida Jalal and Prateeksha Lonkar, ‘Aashayein’ is a fine example
of realistic cinema which tells the story of an ordinary man (John
Abraham) who suddenly discovers that he is terminally ill and has a few
months to live. Instead of wallowing in hope and cursing his fate, our
hero is inspired by the indomitable spirit of life and puts a brave
front. |
