Eliza Doolittle (Eliza Sophie Caird) was born on April 15, 1988 and hails from Westminster, London. She is growing in popularity as an upcoming English singer-songwriter from London and is signed to the Parlophone record label. Since then, all her records have hit the top 25 charts, including her two singles, “Skinny Genes” and “Pack Up”, and her self-titled album, Eliza Doolittle.

Her debut single “Skinny Genes” was released on April 12 and the song was featured in an advertisement. She said, “The song is a funny scenario if you didn’t like someone, if they were really annoying, but you still had a good time.” Doolittle’s second release is titled “Pack Up” debuted at number 12 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Doolittle attended The Village School in Belsize Park for primary school and Bedales School, Hampshire and Channing School for Girls in Highgate Village, North London for secondary school. She is the daughter of John Caird (director) and Frances Ruffelle (who is also a singer) and granddaughter of Sylvia Young. Her musical theatre credits include the RSC adaptations of The Secret Garden (2000) and Les Miserables (1996). The first release from Doolittle is a self-titled EP that features four tracks ‘Rollerblades’, ‘Moneybox’, ‘Police Car’ and ‘Go Home’. Tracks from the EP were remixed by Plastic Little (‘Rollerblades’), Sam Young and Jamie from The xx (‘Money Box’). The EP received radio plays from Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Jo Whiley.

Doolittle has so far played live gigs at the Jazz Cafe and the Notting Hill Arts Club as part of the club night ‘Yo Yo’. She has also supported Alphabeat and Jamie Cullum on tour.

She is previously known for her hit song “Running For Life” for the soundtrack to the film ADULTHOOD.

Doolittle is expected to tour with Paloma Faith during Paloma’s November tour. Doolittle has also performed on the companion show to Channel 4’s Big Brother, Big Brothers Little Brother.

Before entering the charts, Eliza Doolittle toured the UK with her band to gain recognition. This later turned into the “Playground Unplugged” tour where she performed at nationally recognised Secondary Schools such as Hagley RC High School, The Magna Carta School, The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre. She is currently dating MC Monster Under The Bed from Hip-Hop group Children Of The Damned.
