Nilmini Ranatunge Badminton champ at Postal Sports Festival

Badminton: Nilmini Shiroma Ranatunge - an old girl of Sangamitta Balika and Science College, Matale became the badminton champion at the All-Island Postal Sports Festival held at the Public Grounds, Anuradhapura.

Nilmini represented Matale Sports Division and she beat A.C.J. Rodrigo of Colombo Postal Headquarters in the final.

Nilmini has been associated with badminton from a young age and she became the runner-up at the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Tournament in the under 15 age group in 1987 and became champion in the Central Province Schools Badminton Tournament in the same year and in the same age group. Right now, she is attached to Yatawatte Post Office as a Post Mistress.
