Rajans-Sokians match drawn

An entertaining knock of 105 with 16 fours and 2 sixes by Sadun
Weerakkody was the highlight of the inter-school cricket match between
Dharmaraja College, Kandy and Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda which
ended in a draw at Lake View grounds, Kandy yesterday.
Rajans continuing from their overnight score of 137 for 5 declared
their innings at 175 for 9 wickets.
Dharmasoka College in reply were comfortably placed at 90 for 3 at
once before a collapse brought about by 15-year-old off spinner Dineth
Lanka saw them being dismissed for 115. Only N. Uttaradena batted with
confidence to score 40. Little Dineth Lanka drafted from the under 15
team took 6 for 30.
Rajans batting a second time did not fare too well with wickets
falling regularly. It was the fine knock by Sadun Weerakkody which
prevented the Rajans from being dismissed for a lower total. Weerakkody
scored 105 out of a total of 168 for 9. Kasum Wijekoon scored 23.
Dharmaraja College 175 for 9 declared in 66 overs. Sasith Gunasekera
66, Kasun Wijekoon 46, Sadun Weerakkody 20, Deneth Lanka 20, Hemal
Munaweera 20 not out (Chamath Gurusinghe 3 for 33, Ramesh Mendis 2 for
32) and 168 for 9 in 37 overs (Sadun Weerakkody 105, Kasun Wijekoon 23,
D. Nanayakkara 3 for 48, R. Mendis 2 for 33).
Dharmasoka College: 115 all out in 48.5 overs (N. Uttaradena 40,
Deneth Lanka 6 for 30, Asela Jayatillake 2 for 40, Aravinda
Withanarachchi 2 for 20).
