EDEX 2011 from Jan. 22-24

Sri Lanka's largest Higher Education and Careers Expo, the EDEX-2011
educational exhibition will be held at the BMICH on January 22 - 24.
According to EDEX organising committee, which met at Royal College
auditorium on Tuesday, 26 foreign countries will participate and over
300 stalls opened for the benefit of students, who need information on
available higher educational programs.
Principal, Royal College Upali Gunasekara highlighted the importance
of conducting the programs and said that it will benefit school leavers
Ordinary and Advanced Level qualified students, unemployed youth,
University graduates, undergraduates and job seekers.
EDEX, Chairman, Kamal Abeysinghe said that EDEX is the largest
platform for local and foreign post-secondary educational service
providers, skills development and training institutions and prospective
employers to showcase their services and career pathway
especially to youth.
As Sri Lanka is aiming to increase the per capita income to US
Dollars 4000 by year 2015, one of the biggest challenges the country
faces will be to find competent personnel and EDEX could help achieve
this.
He invited parents to participate at the exhibition as they must know
how to guide their children, he said.
A two-day EDEX exhibition will also be held at Kandy City Centre on
January 26 and 27.

A higher education focused magazine and guidance `EDEX Plus' will be
published in all three languages.
