Sasith scores unbeaten 148

Lanky left-hander Sasith Gunasekara made an unbeaten 148 for Dharmaraja College, Kandy in their Inter-school Cricket Match against Vidyartha College which ended in a draw at Police Grounds, Kandy yesterday. Sasith Gunasekera's knock was one of the best ever seen at Police Grounds as he treated his opponents bowling with no respect hitting 7 sixes and 10 fours facing 154 balls. One of the sixes hit by him was one of the biggest ever seen in this venue where the ball dropped on the rail track.

Sasith Gunasekera who made his maiden hundred put on 132 for third wicket with Lahiru Herath who made 54 hitting 5 fours.

Earlier in the morning Vidyartha College continuing their overnight score of 85 for 6 were dismissed for 120 in 63.5 overs against the off spin of 15 years old Deneth Lanka who captured 5 for 58. Between 81 and 91 they lost 4 wickets for 10 runs. Facing a deficit of 127 runs Vidyartha College faced one over after tea before rain and bad light stopped play.
