SLEA Dressage Competition Oct. 3
DRESSAGE COMPETITION: Sri Lanka Equestrian Association (SLEA) - the
national body for equestrian sport in association with Premadasa Riding
School has organised the SLEA Dressage Competition 2010 at the Premadasa
Riding School Arena on October 3 (Sunday) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (11/12.
Melder Place, Nugegoda). The Dressage competition consists of three
events for children aged 7 to 18 testing them at different levels of
riding ability from Group A (simple test for children in trot) to Group
B (an extended test for children in trot) to Group C (children on horses
with canter ability).
This competition will be a meeting ground for competitors from the
Premadasa Riding School and S. Thomas' College Gurutalawa. The Premadasa
Riding School has been a premier rudubg riding school in Sri Lanka for
almost 10 years. S. Thomas' College, Gurutalawa has a horse riding club
with talented riders who has also been active participants.
The Sri Lanka Equestrian Association works towards the introduction
and improvement of equestrian sport in Sri Lanka. To this end the SLEA
clubs have organised several equestrian events such as Dressage,
Obstacle Course, Endurance and Horse Shows since its inception. Dressage
is a sport which encourages proper riding principles as well as the
development of a unity and partnership between the rider and his/her
horse which forms the fundamentals of equestrian riding.
