Sirio wins Gold at NCE Awards
NDB Bank was the sponsor of the 'Most Outstanding Exporter' award
category at the National Chamber of Exporters annual awards held
recently, demonstrating its commitment in recognizing and rewarding the
efforts of individuals in different sectors for their efforts in taking
Sri Lankan products to overseas markets.
The Most Outstanding Exporters Award category recognizes exporting
excellence in sectors such as agriculture, tea, minerals, services,
industry, gems and jewellery as well as service providers to exporters.
Allianz Lanka in Trincomalee
Allianz Lanka consolidated plans for reaching into the East with the
opening of its first Eastern branch office in the heart of Trincomalee,
located at 447/2, Dockyard Road. The Branch Manager is Jacob Predeepen
with an experienced team of sales, front office and underwriting
professionals trained to the internationally benchmarked Allianz
standards of customer service and underwriting.
This is the Munich based conglomerate - Allianz's eighth venture into
the provinces of Sri Lanka, and the second of its branches in the North
East. The company opened a branch in the North, in Jaffna, last
December. Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony was AGA Trincomalee,
Arumugam Nadaraja.

NCCSL seminar
A seminar themed "U.K and Sri Lanka: Partners in Prosperity" will be
held on October 14 from 2.00 pm - 3.30 pm at the National Chamber
Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardene Mw, Colombo 10. At this seminar
participants will be briefed on "U.K Economy, investment opportunities,
Doing Business in the U.K successfully and how the British High
Commission can help Sri Lankan businessmen". Deputy High Commissioner of
the U.K High Commission in Sri Lanka Mark Gooding will be the Keynote
Speaker and Ms Janet Ford, Head of U.K. Trade will also speak at this
seminar. Any issues Sri Lankan businessmen have when dealing with their
counterparts in U.K could also be taken up.

MBSL seminar
A seminar themed "Restructuring organisations to achieve market
leadership in the emerging economy of Sri Lanka" will be held on October
18, from 4.00 pm - 6.30 pm at Galle Face Hotel. The speaker at the
seminar is Chief Executive Officer, Merchant Credit of Sri Lanka Limited
and Chairman, Finance Houses Association of Sri Lanka, Hafeez Rajudin.
