HDFC Bank Walk - celebrating World Habitat Day

To commemorate World Habitat Day designated by UN - HABITAT, a walk was organised by HDFC Bank on October 4, from HDFC Bank head office to Galle Face Green.

Its objectives were to develop awareness on this year's Habitat Day theme "Better City, Better Life", the importance of protecting the environment, and also to contribute to the bank's policy framework of promoting sustainable housing and living and to be actively involved in the Government's effort of achieving Millennium Development Goals on Environmental Sustainability. Simultaneously this ensures that every employee of HDFC understands the importance of incorporating environmental consideration in their daily business activities.

HDFC Bank Chairperson Siromi Wickramasinghe, CEO/GM Suresh Amerasekera, DGM S. Dissanayaka, AGM D.V. Pathirana, schoolchildren and staff of the UN Habitat office in Colombo participated.
