Ranil should hold disciplinary inquiry against himself - Cader

Opposition and United National Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe should hold a disciplinary inquiry against himself first for turning the UNP, one of the giant political parties in the country to a dwarf before conducting disciplinary inquiry against the UNP MPs including me who had taken a decision for the betterment of the country, Kandy District UNP MP Abdul Cader said.

A disciplinary inquiry should be held against Ranil Wickremesinghe not only for breaching discipline in the party but also for ruining the entire party, the MP added.

"The disciplinary inquiries against other MPs should be held only after that inquiry", he added.

The MP made these comments after he was informed by the party hierarchy to face disciplinary inquiry before October 15 for supporting the government to pass the 18th Amendment to the Constitution in parliament.

Cader also said that he can conduct a disciplinary inquiry against Ranil Wickremesinghe for breaching the promise made to him at the last General election.

The MP said if Ranil Wickremesinghe resigns from the party without blaming the government for the deterioration of the UNP, the party can be resurrected even now.
