Encomiums for Sri Lanka at First Ladies' Forum

'A Child Today, A Leader Tomorrow' was the theme of the 'Forum of
First Ladies' held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last week.
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa represented the South Asian countries
at the forum, where the travails of the children from the developing
world were discussed in detail.
First Ladies from 22 countries participated in the Kula Lumpur Forum.
The wife of the Malaysian Prime Minister Datin Paduka Sevi Rosmah Monsor
had discussions with First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa on how bilateral
ties between Sri Lanka and Malaysia could be further enhanced with
regard to the issues on women and children welfare of both countries.
The First Lady of Malaysia said, that the world can learn a lesson
from Sri Lanka which was heading for development after eradicating
terrorism under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Malaysian First Lady also praised the relentless efforts being
taken by the Lankan First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa in enhancing the
living standards of women and children in Sri Lanka.
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa also met the First Ladies of other 21
countries.
They exchanged mementoes at a banquet hosted by the Malaysian First
Lady.
