Further allocation to complete projects

A further allocation of Rs. 810 million will be made to complete projects this year, said Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.

He was addressing the Kalutara District Development Committee meeting at the Kalutara district auditorium recently.

The GA Kalutara Mrs. S. Hapuarachchi presided.

The following allocations was provided.

Abandoned paddyfields in the district Rs. 7 million, agriculture development Rs. 15 million, assistance for small holders to grow rubber Rs. 11 million and each Gramaseva Wasama Rs 1 million, for 594 Gramaseva divisions in the district, he said.

Samurdhi villages will receive Rs. 168 million and Rs. 7 million for development of Ranaviru villages the Minister said.

The Economic Development Minister said this would be the last allocation to be released for the projects.

Work unitedly and try to complete all outstanding projects before the end of the year he said.

Transport Minister Kumara Welgama proposed the vote of thanks.

Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, Justice Deputy Minister Reginold Cooray and Ports and Aviation Deputy Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardana also spoke.
