Hostel for Children's Home

On the initiation of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Chief Minister Maheepala Herath a long awaited essentiality for the disabled children of "Orlandawatta" Children's Home, a hostel, was provided by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

The Sabaragamuwa PC has spent over Rs. 5 million on the construction of this hostel for the scores of handicapped children living there.

The Orlandawatta Children's Home is in Ranwala on the outskirts of Kegalle town.All facilities for the handicapped children such as beds, mattresses, bed-spreads and other amenities were also provided for the children by the Sabaragamuwa PC on the instructions of the Chief Minister Maheepala Herath.

The new building was opened recently by the Minister of Local Government, Social Services, Probation and Childcare Services of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council G.M. Karunaratne.
