Nuwara Eliya Ladies Golf Oct. 22 and 23

GOLF: Reigning Sri Lanka Ladies Amateur Champion Mrs. Shayanika Fernando, playing off handicap 5 will make a strong bid to win the Nuwara Eliya Ladies Club Golf Championship when the tournament will be played on October 22 and 23. The Governor's Chalets (previously known as the Beat Club) will be the main sponsor of the event.

While Shayanika Fernando will make every attempt to win, there is likely to be some hot competition offered by Nilee Jayatilaka playing off handicap 9 and teenager Dhanushi Senadhira playing off 8.

The Bronze Division is likely to see keen competition between Fran de Mel and Roshini Sangani, Rohina Johnston and Shirani Buffin.
