Landmasters for farmers in North

The Government has launched various welfare schemes in the North to uplift the living conditions of the resettled Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Priority has been given to develop the infrastructure facilities.

Northern Province Governor Major General G. A. Chandrasiri said, 400 Land Masters have been distributed among the farmers to improve the agricultural sector.

Seventy-five Land Masters were also distributed to the farmers in the Vavuniya District last week. Another 150 Land Masters donated by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) will be distributed among the farmers in the Mullaithivu district.

One-hundred Land Masters will also be distributed among farmers in the Mannar district.
