Dengue mosquitoes mostly in Wayamba and Western provinces

Wayamba and Western Provinces are having the largest number of potential dengue breeding places according to the survey carried out by the investigation team of the Ministry of Health in the second dengue eradication program.

Teams conducting the second dengue eradication week program inspected 9,224 public places on the fourth day.

They detected 4,479 potential dengue mosquito breeding places and 1,404 places with dengue mosquito larvae.

The most dangerous spots among team were found in Wayamba and Western Provinces Health Ministry officials told the media.

The Ministry officials also said that Wayamba had 889 potential dengue breeding places and 312 places with dengue mosquito larvae while the Western Province had 573 potential dengue breeding places and 209 places with dengue mosquito larvae.

In Wayamba 115 persons were warned to clear the mosquito breeding places.
