Deputy Director General BOI A.M.C Kulaskera said that the BOI has actively promoted the IT/BPO sector as one of the 5 major thrust sectors. The IT BPO industry had emerged as the 5th largest export earner for Sri Lanka with a total value of US$ 308 million. It employs 60,000 workers. The Government's objective was to transform it into an industry that employed 100,000 workers with export earnings of US$ 1 billion by 2015.

Kulasekera added "the IT/BPO sector is in many cases a cutting edge industry which Sri Lankans can easily assimilate, provided they are given the right training. Our interest is in bringing to Sri Lanka investments from an industry that is, globally speaking ,a US$330 billion sector".

Commenting on the excellent co-ordination and synergies between the Swedish and Sri Lankans he said "The Director of Cambio Healthcare Systems Susheena Ranatunga, and his team are commended for their dedicated efforts in making this project a reality".

"With the growth in market demand in Sweden, Denmark and UK, we needed a development center with all facilities including high end server equipment to provide a good software development environment. With our rapid growth we have also restructured the way we communicate and work. Our new building has been carefully designed to support and enhance our software development process", said CEO Cambio Healthcare Systems, Tomas Mora Morrison.

"Cambio is leading and defining the e-health generation. We are shaping tomorrow's e-healthcare by providing hospitals and health centers with state-of-the-art systems that radically improve patient administration services and clinical decision support. Our Sri Lanka team, which consists of highly skilled and motivated engineers and developers from the best universities in Sri Lanka, play an essential part of our successful business", said Morrison.
